The Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center on Lake Grapevine-outside of Dallas, TX-was the setting for Kyocera's annual Pan-American Dealer Meeting. The event was held on April 8th through April 10th. It was also Kyocera's 40th year of business in America, and the general session marked this occasion with musical hits from 1973. Company executives addressed more than 1,000 attendees from the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Europe, and Japan.
The theme of the meeting was "Resolution 360 Degrees." According to Peter Hendrick, Vice President of Marketing, Kyocera's goal is to not simply offer customer's solutions, but "resolutions" to their challenging document workflow issues, including hardware and software that eliminates the customer's critical challenges and grows their business.

One way vendors are responding to the trends of cloud computing and mobile apps is by offering apps and cloud connectivity from their printers and MFPs. While there is significant variation in the types of apps being provided, their installation process, and their cost, InfoTrends is seeing a greater manufacturer focus on adding value to the print device, providing cloud support, and enhancing the usability of the printer touchscreen and its applications. On March 5-7th, HP held an "HP Industry Analyst Summit" in Boston, MA for analysts covering the full range of its business units. According to HP representatives, almost 300 analysts attended the event; it was the first large-scale analyst event HP has held in a couple of years. While HP did not delve deeply into the print portion of its business during the general sessions of the conference, it did focus on this business in the HP Printing and Personal Systems (PPS) Imaging and Printing Breakout session during the second day of the event.
