| HP announced the planned acquisition of Exstream Software, the largest of the enterprise production and automated composition software companies. HP, like most large IT companies, is attracted to and investing in software now. At a minimum, this acquisition and integration should work as a pure software play. The most pressing question is how aggressive HP will be in creating synergies with other businesses, particularly enterprise production printing. The HP-Exstream announcement confirms the growth that InfoTrends expects in the enterprise production and automated composition software market and the exciting future of TransPromo applications and multi-channel communications. |
