| In terms of product introductions, 2008 was a milestone year for industrial inkjet printing of ceramic tiles. Several new suppliers introduced their first systems based on piezoelectric heads and kiln-curable ceramic inks, and two others showed products for commercial launch in 2009. Like the construction industry around it, the tile industry is being affected by the economic downturn, and this in turn is affecting the outlook for piezoelectric inkjet in tile manufacturing. Nevertheless, the long-term prospect for industrial inkjet printing in tile manufacturing remains quite good. This document provides an update on this intriguing corner of the inkjet market. |
